Aruta Soup [Artist,Graphic Designer]

17歳で単身渡英。2010年、ロンドンのショーディッチエリアにあるスケートボードショップで個展を開催。
これをきっかけに、かのBANKSYやShepard Faireyらがグラフィティを手がけることで知られる
有名クラブハウス「CARGO」の壁画を手がけることとなる。
以来、ロンドン最大のストリートアートイベント「StreetFest」に2年連続でゲストアーティストとして参加。
2012年に日本帰国後、多数のアパレルブランドへのイラスト提供や、
明和電機の新しいファッションブランド「MEEWEE DINKEE」のグラフィックデザインを手がけ、
2013年「明和電機×Aruta Soup展」(Gallery ABYDOS)などを成功させる。
今年にはH.P.FRANCE主催の合同展示会「rooms28」のメインビジュアルアーティストとして、
グラフィックと代々木第一体育館の会場の監修を担当。
2014年6月には書苑新社より作品集“THIRD EYE”を出版。



Aruta Soup is Artist and Graphic designer based in Japan. From the age of Seventeen, he moved to UK to study at University of the Arts London and started as a freelance Graphic Designer to design CD sleeves, flyers, and T-shorts. In 2010, he had his first solo exhibition at the skateboard shop in Shoreditch, London.

The show was highly received in the area and invited to do mural painting at CARGO (Legendary known for graffiti by BANKSY and Shepard Fairey). Since then, he joined London’s greatest street art event "Street Fest” two year in a row, participated as a guest artist at London Film Con, and had done mural paintings at various locations, including a clothing shop, hair salon and club.

After came back to Japan in 2012, he moved to Tokyo and started to offer illustrations for an apparel brand. He also had exhibitions at H.P. FRANCE, Gallery ABYDOS (CANNABIS), TABLOID, and Gallery Trax.

In 2013, he participated a group exhibition "I Sing the Body Electric" with Keiji Ito and KYOTARO and Deki Yayoi; which celebrated the the 20th anniversary of Gallery Trax.

His current project is working as Graphic Designer of "MEEWEEDINKEE” , the fashion brand launched by artist unit “Maywa Denki”. They made a huge success with [Maywa Denki xAruta Soup exhibition] at H.P.FRANCE Gallery ABYDOS (CANNABIS) and the live performance at Laforet Harajuku “WALL".
